100% of net proceeds raised by MBCure are donated directly to research, awareness, education, and access efforts for the Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) Community.
MBCure’s Fiscal Sponsorship:
MBCure has partnered with Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC) in a fiscal sponsorship agreement. A fiscal sponsorship is a structure in which our mission and vision can become a reality without the restraints of administrative, regulatory, and bookkeeping burdens. This allows MBCure to focus our energies on our mission.
MBCure pays LBBC a nominal administrative fee each year to cover their work doing operational logistics, such as collecting, managing, and dispersing funds, along with adhering to IRS regulations associated with maintaining 501c3 status. Given that LBBC is our fiscal sponsor, MBCure falls under LBBC’s 501c3 status and shares an EIN/tax-ID number with LBBC.
MBCure has a contract in place so that the MBCure Board maintains control over where our funds are donated each year. We are two distinct organizations with different missions. Fiscal sponsorship is simply an administrative aspect of MBCure’s model to ensure our costs stay as low as possible, while we are growing our organization. It also allows us to maintain legitimacy as a new organization being that LBBC has a strong reputation and brand.
