MBCure and Cancer Culture Announce Strategic Collaboration to Accelerate Support and Innovation for Metastatic Breast Cancer
MBCure is a nonprofit on a mission to ignite change in the metastatic breast cancer (MBC) community by funding research, awareness, education, and access for all. MBCure has also recently established the MBCure Research Consortium, an innovative model to fuel curative-intent research for MBC. Cancer Culture is an MBC-focused nonprofit reshaping the public narrative around cancer through art, storytelling, and advocacy and strongly believes in the benefits of human connection and creative activism. By centering patient voices and fostering unique expression, Cancer Culture builds community and drives change.
This partnership enables synergies between these two MBC-focused organizations with a shared commitment to empower patients and accelerate progress in the fight against MBC. By leveraging Cancer Culture’s unique platform for storytelling, public engagement, and patient-centric programs alongside MBCure’s Research Consortium, the collaboration aims to amplify fundraising success, propel scientific breakthroughs, and create an influential model of impact and hope for the MBC community with a focus on improving the lives of those affected by this disease. These two groups place great emphasis on the power of women supporting women.
By working together, we elevate the voices of MBC patients while directly contributing to groundbreaking discoveries. This joint effort is a pivotal step forward highlighting the strides we can make when working together and uplighting one another. The partnership is only in its infancy and is growing. Together, we are strengthening our platforms, focusing investment in bold, curative-intent MBC research under strategic direction and guidance, and inspiring a cancer culture that recognizes the resilience of those living with MBC.
In a short time, our collaboration has already created meaningful impact and resulted in tangible action:
• Partnering at New York Fashion Week to bring visibility and awareness to the MBC community, highlight disparities, debunk fallacies – we are not here for the polite version of advocacy. We are here to educate about the reality of the situation.
• Hosting a powerful MBC Patient Retreat, creating space for connection, healing, and support
• Celebrating the Annual MBCure Gala, rallying an incredible community of advocates and supporters
• Co-sponsoring the Pink 365 Podcast with Miranda McKeon, amplifying important conversations around women’s health and breast cancer
• Attending the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) together to elevate patient voices within the research community and among industry partners by advocating for what the MBC community urgently needs and demands
Through just the efforts listed above, we raised over $450,000 for the metastatic breast cancer community in less than 8 months. None of the aforementioned efforts would have been nearly as successful if either organization took these endeavors on alone. We have also garnered significant press and media coverage, exponentially augmented our following, helped to develop unique educational content, supported countless patients, and so much more.
But beyond the numbers, this partnership is about synergy — working together (not in competition) to scale our platforms to challenge long-standing breast cancer misconceptions and make waves to disrupt a landscape that desperately needs it. We are shifting the paradigm, changing the conversation, and galvanizing others to do the same by talking about a cure and putting action behind our words as we develop our curative-intent research portfolio.
At the heart of the partnership between MBCure and Cancer Culture is something simple, yet transformative: kindness, compassion, and the belief that women are strongest when we support one another.
What began as two organizations with a shared mission has grown into a partnership far greater than either organization could have achieved alone. When women come together with purpose and determination, impact doesn’t just grow — it multiplies. Together, we are working to unite the entire breast cancer community — from previvors, to early-stage survivors, to those living with late-stage and metastatic breast cancer. By bringing these communities together, we are exponentially increasing the momentum, awareness, and support behind the metastatic breast cancer (MBC) community, ensuring that no voice is left out of the conversation.
This partnership is a testament to the power of kindness and collaboration – women supporting women not just in words, but through action.
And the most exciting part? This is only the beginning. We are actively brainstorming and building new initiatives together and continuing to grow this movement — because when women lead with compassion and stand together, the impact is limitless.
And when women support women with kindness and purpose, we don’t just create change — we create unstoppable momentum.
